Where do your teaching placements, classroom achievements and qualifications actually go? This teacher resume template pack gives you five role layouts for Word and Google Docs—New Teacher, Experienced Teacher, Substitute, Teaching Assistant and Lecturer—with US Letter, UK A4 and India A4 versions. Choose your role, replace the examples and build an application around your own classroom experience.

Whether you are a B.Ed graduate writing your first school application, an experienced classroom teacher, a substitute, a teaching assistant or a lecturer, the pack gives you a relevant starting structure and examples that show how to use it.

Why You'll Love It

  • Five roles get their own structure: student teaching leads the new-teacher layout, classroom experience leads the experienced layout, and academic appointments and teaching contributions lead the lecturer CV.
  • Qualifications have a clear place: editable fields help you present relevant credentials, their issuing bodies, dates and status. Keep only the fields that apply to you.
  • Classroom evidence beats a list of duties: 20 bullet starters cover lesson planning, assessment, inclusive learning, cover lessons, support work and higher-education teaching. Add your own accurate details.
  • Regional starting points in one pack: US Letter files use US wording; UK A4 files use a Personal Statement; India A4 files include relevant B.Ed and eligibility-test prompts where applicable.
  • Simple, editable document structure: one column, real Word headings, real bullet lists and Arial. The core files use no layout tables, text boxes, photos, icons or contact details in headers or footers.
  • Use familiar tools: edit the DOCX files in Word or upload them to your own Google Drive and open with Google Docs. No paid resume-builder subscription is required.

What's Included

  • 15 editable resume/CV templates (.docx): five role layouts in each of US Letter, UK A4 and India A4. Four school-role layouts start at one page; Lecturer CV templates start at two pages.
  • Two editable worked examples (.docx): a one-page US classroom teacher resume and a two-page UK teaching CV. There are 17 DOCX files in total.
  • Eight-page Access Guide (PDF): editing and export steps, regional file guidance, classroom-achievement writing, 20 bullet starters, new-teacher and substitute examples, UK personal-statement and referee guidance, and the copy-paste check.
  • Bonus one-page Copy-Paste Test Checklist (PDF) with teaching-specific accuracy and learner-privacy checks.
  • Bonus editable Canva teacher resume: a design-first companion for suitable direct or email applications, with the template link, QR code and copy instructions in the guide.
  • Start Here instructions and personal-use terms, together in one ZIP download.

Pick Your Layout

  • New Teacher: leads with relevant qualifications and supervised school placements, with room for tutoring, volunteering and extracurricular work.
  • Experienced Teacher: puts teaching history, curriculum planning, assessment and classroom contributions first.
  • Substitute Teacher: focuses on prepared lesson delivery, classroom routines, clear handovers and relevant availability.
  • Teaching Assistant: presents teacher-directed small-group support, resource preparation and objective observations.
  • Lecturer CV: includes academic appointments, teaching areas, module contributions, research, publications, service and referees. Expand it to fit the vacancy.

Who Is This For?

  • New teachers and B.Ed graduates turning placements into relevant experience.
  • Experienced primary or secondary teachers describing classroom contributions.
  • Substitute and supply teachers showing dependable cover and handover experience.
  • Teaching assistants and learning-support applicants explaining their actual responsibilities.
  • Lecturers preparing a teaching-focused CV for a higher-education role.

Classroom Achievements Without Invented Numbers

“Responsible for reading lessons” says little about your work. A clearer pattern is: “Planned differentiated reading activities for a class of 26 and used weekly exit tickets to identify topics for reteaching.” That example is fictional. Use the pattern with your own evidence; a clear contribution can be useful without claiming a percentage improvement you cannot support.

US Resume, UK Teaching CV and India Formats

The folders adjust paper size, spelling, opening-section names and credential prompts. They are starting points for writing, not a statement that you meet a country's teaching requirements. Use the vacancy's terminology and follow each employer's instructions on length, file type, application forms, supporting statements and referee details. A CV does not replace a required school application form.

How It Works

  1. Download the ZIP after checkout and extract it on your computer.
  2. Choose US_Letter, UK_A4 or India_A4, then open the role that fits your experience.
  3. Edit in Word, or upload the DOCX to Google Drive and open with Google Docs. Replace all fictional text, numbers and bracketed fields.
  4. Check and apply: export the employer-requested file, run the copy-paste checklist and review the exact document you submit.

ATS-Friendly, Explained Honestly

Here, ATS-friendly describes the simple file structure: selectable text, one column, standard headings and real lists. It is not an ATS score or a promise that every system will parse every edited file correctly. The copy-paste check helps you inspect reading order; review any portal preview and parsed fields too. No template can guarantee an interview or a job.

Certifications and Qualifications

List the exact qualification or teaching status you hold, with the institution or issuing body, date and accurate status. Do not turn “in progress” into “awarded.” This pack provides presentation fields, not licensing advice. Check the employer and relevant official body directly, such as England's QTS information or the official CTET website, where relevant.

Digital Use & Software

  • Digital download only; nothing is shipped.
  • DOCX templates and PDF guides. Google Docs access uses your own uploaded files; hosted make-a-copy links are not included.
  • Google Docs or Word for the web can be used with the appropriate account. Desktop Word may require a licence. Review formatting after any conversion.
  • Personal use for your own applications. Please do not share, resell or redistribute the templates.
  • Editing is easiest on a computer. Never include identifiable learner details, individual pupil records or confidential school information.

Questions, Answered

Is a Canva version included?

Yes. The ZIP includes access to one editable Canva teacher resume companion. Open the template link from page 5 of the guide or Canva_Access.txt and save your own copy. This is a design-first option for suitable direct or email applications; use the core DOCX layouts for application portals.

What should be on a teacher resume?

Include contact details, a short relevant summary, teaching experience or supervised placements, education, relevant credentials and teaching skills. Add classroom contributions you can explain. The five layouts help you put the strongest evidence first, then adapt the wording to the vacancy.

How do I write a teacher resume with no experience?

Start with your education, accurate teaching status and supervised school placements. List the setting, dates, age range or subject and the lessons or activities you supported. Tutoring and volunteering can also show relevant skills. The New Teacher layout and page 7 of the guide show the pattern.

How do I write a teaching CV for UK schools?

Use the UK A4 files as a starting point, tailor the Personal Statement to the person specification and describe relevant teaching experience. Present qualifications and teaching status accurately. Complete any required application form and supporting statement; the CV is a companion, not a replacement for those documents.

How long should a teacher resume be?

Follow the employer's instructions and keep the content relevant. The four school-role templates start at one page, the Lecturer CV templates at two pages, and the UK worked example shows a two-page school CV. Add or remove content to suit your experience rather than shrinking the text.

What skills should a teacher put on a resume?

Choose skills supported by your experience and the vacancy: lesson planning, assessment, classroom routines, differentiation, inclusive learning, subject knowledge, collaboration or family communication. Use experience bullets to show how you applied them. Assistants should make the scope of teacher-directed support clear.

Can I use this as a B.Ed fresher resume format in India?

Yes. The India A4 New Teacher file includes education and relevant teaching-qualification prompts, supervised placements and additional relevant experience. Edit the curriculum and subject wording to fit the school. Include credentials or eligibility-test details only where applicable and accurate.

Does it work in Google Docs?

Yes. Upload the selected DOCX to your own Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. You can save a native Google document if needed. Review margins, bullets and page breaks after conversion. This edition provides downloadable DOCX files rather than hosted Google Docs make-a-copy links.

Is the teacher resume template really ATS-friendly?

The core files use one column, real headings, real bullets, standard text and no layout tables, text boxes, images or contact details in headers or footers. That is a clean starting structure, not a guaranteed parsing result. Test your edited submission file and inspect any portal preview.

Should I include pupil names, individual results or school records?

No. Describe your teaching role without identifying learners or disclosing confidential school information. Use general scope or permitted, non-identifying aggregate evidence. Do not include individual grades, diagnoses, safeguarding cases or pupil records in the resume or upload them to an AI tool.

Do I need to put referees on my teaching CV?

Follow the employer's application pack. Add professional referee details only with permission and in the requested format. The UK worked example and Lecturer CV provide editable referee fields. Do not assume that a generic “available on request” line satisfies every school's process.

Will this template get me an interview?

No template can promise that. This pack helps you present qualifications, placements and classroom experience clearly. The employer decides whether your experience, evidence and eligibility fit the role.

Is this a physical product?

No. This is a digital ZIP download containing 17 editable DOCX files, an eight-page PDF guide, a one-page PDF checklist and Start Here instructions. Nothing is shipped.

Next step: pair your resume with How to Stop Applying Into the Void to organise your next applications.

All sample people, institutions and achievements are fictional. This pack is not certification, licensing or recruitment advice and does not guarantee a job or interview. Microsoft Word and Google Docs are trademarks of their respective owners; this product is not affiliated with them.
