A printable feelings activity book for shared conversations

Draw a feeling creature, imagine what a character might feel and explore a small kind action together. The Feelings & Kindness Activity Book is a printable PDF book for children ages 4–7, designed for adult-led conversations at home or in a teacher's own classroom.

Each edition contains 24 open-ended activity pages and 4 support pages — 28 pages in total. Children can draw, point, talk or skip. They may use invented characters instead of personal experiences, and no feeling is marked right or wrong.

Gentle prompts with room for different responses

The book offers face and body clues, drawing spaces, fictional everyday stories, kindness choices and optional quieter paper activities. A face or pose can have more than one meaning, so prompts ask what someone might feel. The activities invite possibilities rather than asking children to match every expression to a fixed answer.

Kindness pages explore asking before helping, giving invitations without pressure, respecting personal space and looking after shared things. Quiet activity choices include doodling, noticing a picture, looking at a book and asking a trusted adult for help. Every choice is optional; no activity promises to change a feeling.

What is inside each edition?

Section Pages Activities
Name a feeling 4–7 Imagine meanings for face and body clues, compare the same face in different stories and explore more than one possible feeling.
My feelings drawings 8–11 Invent a creature, use lines and colours, draw one feeling in two ways and choose a drawing idea.
Everyday scenarios 12–15 Talk or draw about a falling tower, waiting for a turn, a new game and a quieter moment.
Kindness choices 16–19 Explore asking before helping, optional invitations, personal space and care for shared things.
Calm activity choices 20–23 Try an optional doodle path, notice picture details, explore help words and choose an activity.
My support and reflection 24–27 Draw a symbol for a trusted helper, make a help-words card, imagine a kind action and reflect on a next choice.

The four support pages are the cover, adult print/use guide, contents and optional keepsake. There are no scored answer pages, because the activities are open-ended.

Who it is for

  • Parents and caregivers: short shared conversations with drawing and pointing options.
  • Home learning: flexible paper activities around feelings, everyday stories and kindness.
  • Teachers: selected activities for their own classroom, with space for different responses.

An adult reads prompts, explains unfamiliar words and lets the child choose how much to take part. Writing is optional; an adult can write dictated words. A symbol can stand for a trusted helper, and no real names, identifying details or personal disclosure are required.
