Choose a printable book by age and activity

Age and task Examples How to use the pages
Ages 3–5: early pencil practice First Lines & Shapes Broad tracing paths and open drawing; adult help as needed
Ages 3–6: early farm activities Farm Friends Matching, counting and tracing with adult-read instructions
Ages 4–6: focused skills Alphabet · Numbers 1–20 · Cut & Paste Choose the skill; supervise scissors and use title-specific checking guidance
Ages 4–7: themes and reflection Ocean Explorer · Feelings & Kindness Puzzle answers differ from open-ended creative or feelings responses
Ages 5–8: science-themed activities Space Mission · Weather & Seasons Choose by reading level and activity previews

Ages 4–8: travel and seasonal play Screen-Free Travel · Dinosaur · Christmas · Diwali Follow the selected book’s age, printing and adult guidance

Age bands are guides, not ability tests. Choose a comfortable page and let the child set the pace. Activities with one defined solution may have an answer key; creative work and personal feelings do not have one required correct response.

Choose an activity book by age and interest

  • First lines, letters and numbers: First Lines & Shapes introduces large paths, curves and shapes for ages 3–5. For ages 4–6, Alphabet Adventure covers uppercase and lowercase A–Z practice, while Numbers 1–20 combines numeral tracing, counting, sequencing and comparisons.
  • Supervised cutting and crafts: Cut & Paste Scissor Skills offers straight cuts, curves, shape sorting, sequences and paper assembly for ages 4–6. An adult must supervise cutting and gluing.
  • Animals, vehicles and imaginary adventures: Farm Friends suits ages 3–6. Ocean Explorer, Construction Vehicle and Unicorn & Fairy offer themed matching, counting, mazes and drawing for ages 4–7. The Dinosaur Activity Book adds dinosaur colouring, puzzles and early activity pages for ages 4–8.
  • Space and everyday science: Space Mission and Weather & Seasons are intended for ages 5–8. Explore planet matching and mission puzzles, or weather symbols, local observations and a simple water journey.
  • Logic and map challenges: Animal Detective includes clue-based tasks, mini sudoku and worked reasoning. World Explorer introduces map keys, directions, grid references and introductory geography. Both are intended for ages 6–9, with adult reading help as needed.
  • Feelings and kindness: Feelings & Kindness supports adult-led drawing, pointing and conversation for ages 4–7. Children can use imagined characters, offer different interpretations or skip a prompt. Feelings are not scored.
  • Festivals and journeys: choose Diwali Lights & Rangoli, Christmas Puzzle & Activity or the Screen-Free Travel Activity Book, all intended for ages 4–8. The festival books are undated; the travel book offers puzzles, drawing and shared paper games for journeys and waiting time.

Match the page to the child’s next task

A tracing page, a cutting activity and a deduction puzzle ask children to do different things. For a first pencil session, start with broad lines and shapes. For letter or number practice, choose a book with that specific focus. For a child drawn to a theme, use the page previews to find a comfortable mix of matching, counting, observation and drawing. Older children may prefer the more involved logic or map challenges.

The age bands are guides rather than requirements to complete every page independently. An adult can read short instructions, explain unfamiliar words and help choose a few pages for home learning, a classroom session or screen-free quiet time. Open-ended drawing, observation and feelings activities can have many valid responses.

A4 and US Letter PDFs: check your chosen book

The newer skill and themed books include separate A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 inch) PDF editions in a customer ZIP, alongside a START-HERE guide and use licence. Choose the PDF matching your paper and print a test page at Actual Size / 100%. Both editions contain the same activities; two paper sizes do not mean twice as many different pages.

The original Dinosaur and Screen-Free Travel books have different printing specifications. Dinosaur is listed as US Letter. Travel is also US Letter and includes A4 printing guidance using Fit to page. Read the selected product’s own notes before printing, especially where tracing, cutting or puzzle details need to stay clear.

Know what is included before you buy

Each activity book is purchased separately. Product pages distinguish activity pages from total pages, which can also include the cover, guide, contents, answers or a keepsake. Puzzle books describe their answer keys or worked solutions. Practice, craft and conversation books may use demonstrations and adult guidance instead of scored answers.

These are digital PDF downloads for printing, with your own paper and materials. For a ZIP package, extract the files before opening the book. Select useful pages, print a test sheet and prepare a pencil or colouring materials. The cutting book also needs appropriate scissors and glue with adult supervision. Follow each product’s included licence when reprinting for a household or classroom.

Frequently asked questions

Which printable kids activity books can I buy?

Choose from pre-writing, alphabet, numbers, scissor skills, themed puzzles, logic, geography, weather, feelings, Diwali, Christmas and travel activity books. Each listing is a separate purchase with its own age guidance, page previews and download details.

What ages are these activity books for?

The collection includes books with suggested age ranges spanning 3–9. First Lines & Shapes is for ages 3–5, Farm Friends for 3–6, and the Animal Detective and World Explorer books for 6–9. Other books have their own ranges. Review the individual listing and choose activities suited to the child.

Which books include alphabet tracing or numbers 1–20?

Alphabet Adventure includes uppercase and lowercase English letter practice from A to Z. Numbers 1–20 provides one dedicated page per number plus counting, sequence and quantity-comparison tasks. Both are intended for ages 4–6, with adult help as needed.

Are these A4 or US Letter printable activity books?

The 15 newer titles include separate A4 and US Letter PDF editions. These sizes contain the same activities. The original Dinosaur book is specified as US Letter, while the Travel book is US Letter with A4 Fit to page guidance. Follow the selected book’s own instructions.

How many activity pages do I receive?

Page counts vary by book. Check the listing’s activity-page count and its total page count, which may also include answers and support pages. An A4 PDF and a US Letter PDF are alternative layouts of the same book; they do not double the number of different activities.

Do all books include answer keys?

No. Puzzle titles describe the answers or worked solutions they include. First Lines & Shapes, Cut & Paste and Feelings & Kindness use practice, craft or open-ended activities instead of scored answer pages. Craft examples and adult guidance are provided where stated.

Can I print just a few pages or print them again?

Yes, select individual pages in your PDF reader and follow the product’s licence for repeat printing. Keep answer pages separate if you prefer. For cutting activities, use single-sided printing so cutting one page does not damage another activity on its reverse.

Do I need a colour printer?

The newer books use white backgrounds and black line artwork suitable for black-and-white printing, and the Travel book also supports monochrome printing. Colouring pencils or crayons can be used on creative pages. Check each product’s printing notes and test one page first.

Does my child need to read independently?

Many tasks are picture-led, but an adult may need to read instructions, explain vocabulary or demonstrate a first step. Logic clues, map tasks and word puzzles can need more reading support. Use the real page previews to choose a suitable starting point.

Does the scissor-skills book need adult supervision?

Yes. An adult must supervise cutting and gluing, choose appropriate scissors and help with preparation. The book includes cut-and-paste practice and paper assembly. Other books have their own materials requirements; check the listing before preparing an activity.

Do I need Canva, AI or a paid app?

These are finished printable PDF activity books. The newer titles do not require an AI subscription, Canva or a paid design app. You need a PDF reader and access to a printer for paper use. Extract a ZIP download before opening the files; the PDFs are not editable templates or fillable forms.

Can I use the activities in my classroom?

The newer books include a licence for one household OR one teacher’s own classroom, with repeat printing within that scope. School-wide use, sharing digital files with other teachers, resale and redistribution are not included. Check the licence on your selected product, including the original Dinosaur and Travel titles.

Will a physical activity book be delivered?

No. These are digital downloads to print yourself. A bound book, paper, printer, pencils and craft materials are not supplied.

Are the Diwali and Christmas activity books dated?

No. The Diwali and Christmas books are undated and can be used in a later festival season within their included licences. They offer themed paper activities; review the previews and adult guidance to choose what suits your family or classroom.
