Where do your licences, clinical rotations and specialty certifications actually go? This nurse resume template pack gives you 5 ATS-safe layouts for Word and Google Docs — New Grad, Experienced RN, Specialty (ICU/ER), CNA/Support Worker, and a UK NHS-style CV — each with a dedicated place for your credentials, not squeezed into a generic Skills line. Download, fill in, apply.

Whether you're a nursing student with no paid experience yet, an RN with years of med-surg or critical-care experience, a CNA, or applying to the NHS, there's a layout built for your situation.

Why You'll Love It

  • Licences and certifications get their own section in every layout — full name, issuing body and status, so recruiters and applicant tracking systems find them fast.
  • Clinical rotations formatted like real experience: the New Grad layout lists unit, hospital, hours and dates exactly like a job entry — no paid work required.
  • Specialty bullet examples included for ICU, ER, OR and community/public health, plus CNA-specific examples, so you can see the pattern and swap in your own numbers.
  • Covers both sides of the Atlantic: US-style resumes with a Professional Summary, and a UK NHS-style CV with a Personal Statement and NMC registration section.
  • Built for the way portals read: one column, real Word heading styles, real bullet lists and standard fonts — no text boxes, tables, icons, images or headers/footers.
  • Works with free tools: open the files in Word, Word for the web or LibreOffice, or upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs.

What's Included

  • 9 resume files (.docx): New Grad, Experienced RN, Specialty (ICU/ER) and CNA/Support Worker in both US Letter and A4, plus the UK NHS-style CV in A4
  • 8-page Access Guide (PDF): US resume vs UK NHS-style CV explained, how to list licences/certifications/clinical rotations, new-grad vs experienced RN writing guidance, specialty bullet examples for ICU, ER, OR and community health, the copy-paste test and common mistakes
  • Bonus: 1-page Copy-Paste Test Checklist (PDF) with nursing-specific checks

Pick Your Layout

  • New Grad — leads with Licences and Certifications, Education and Clinical Rotations, formatted like real job entries.
  • Experienced RN — leads with Professional Experience, built for patient ratios, unit size and measurable outcomes.
  • Specialty (ICU/ER) — the same structure, built around critical-care certifications like CCRN and specialty bullet patterns.
  • CNA / Support Worker — built around activities of daily living, vital signs and hands-on patient care.
  • UK NHS-Style CV — Personal Statement, NMC registration, and NHS-style Employment History, in A4.

Who Is This For?

  • Nursing students and new graduate RNs with clinical rotations but no paid nursing job yet.
  • Experienced RNs on medical-surgical, telemetry or general units.
  • ICU, ER, OR and other critical-care or specialty nurses.
  • CNAs, patient care technicians and support workers.
  • Nurses applying to the NHS or elsewhere in the UK, including those applying from abroad.

How It Works

  1. Download the ZIP file instantly after checkout.
  2. Unzip it and open the folder for your paper size: 01 US Letter or 02 A4.
  3. Open the layout that matches your role in Word — or upload it to Google Drive and choose Open with Google Docs.
  4. Replace the sample text with your own, run the copy-paste test, then save as a PDF and apply.

ATS-Friendly, Explained Honestly

"ATS-friendly" here means the structure avoids the things most often blamed for parsing errors: multiple columns, text boxes, tables used for layout, text inside images, icons in place of words, and contact details tucked into headers. Employers use many different systems, so no template can promise a particular result — and none can promise an interview. What this pack gives you is a clean starting point and a simple test to check your own finished file.

A Note on Licensing

Licensing and registration requirements (state boards in the US, the NMC in the UK, and equivalent bodies elsewhere) change and vary by location. This pack shows you how to present your credentials clearly on a resume — it is not licensing or registration advice, so always confirm current requirements with the relevant licensing body directly.

Digital Use & Software

  • This is a digital download — nothing is shipped.
  • Files are .docx (compatible with Word and Google Docs) and PDF. A free Google or Microsoft account is enough.
  • Personal-use licence for your own job applications. Please don't share, resell or redistribute the files.
  • Editing is easiest on a computer; the Word and Google Docs phone apps can also open the files.

Questions, Answered

Is a CV the same as a resume for nurses?

In the UK, NHS employers use "CV" and typically expect a Personal Statement. In the US and India, "resume" with a Professional Summary is standard. The pack includes both.

What if my NCLEX-RN result is still pending?

Say so honestly: "NCLEX-RN: Scheduled [date]" or "License pending". Employers who hire new grads expect this.

How do I list clinical rotations if I have no paid nursing job?

List them exactly like jobs: unit or specialty, hospital, hours completed, dates, and one line on what you did. The guide walks through this on page 4.

Should I include patient details in my bullets?

No — never include real patient names or identifying details, even de-identified ones, in your resume. Describe your role and scope only.

Does it work in Google Docs?

Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. Calibri is available there. Check that it stays on one page.

Is it really ATS-friendly?

The files use one column, real headings, real bullets, standard fonts and no text boxes, tables, images or headers/footers — the elements most often blamed for parsing errors. Run the copy-paste test on your finished file.

Can I use the UK NHS-style CV if I'm applying from abroad?

Yes — add your registration status honestly (e.g. "NMC registration in progress") and verify current requirements directly with the NMC.

Will this get me an interview?

No template can promise that. This pack helps your licences, rotations and clinical experience read clearly — the fit still depends on the role and the interview.

Is this a physical product?

No — it's a digital download. You receive a ZIP file with editable Word files and PDFs. Nothing is shipped.
