🚀 Eight little missions, one paper-space adventure.
This printable space activity book for ages 5–8 combines mazes, planet matching, counting, patterns and creative drawing in a finished PDF download. The Space Mission Puzzle & Activity Book contains 32 activity pages organised into eight short missions, with adult help as needed. Choose a single puzzle for a quiet moment or explore a few different missions at the child’s pace.
Separate A4 and US Letter editions make these space worksheets for kids easy to match to your paper. Both sizes contain the same activities, with white backgrounds and black line art for low-ink printing. Answer pages help grown-ups check closed puzzles and talk through a different attempt.
📥 Digital download only: one customer ZIP with two PDF book editions, a START-HERE printing guide and a use licence. No physical book or stationery is included.
What happens in the eight missions?
- Launch mazes: Guide an imaginary rocket or rover through four easy-to-medium corridor mazes. Each has one complete route, shown on the answer page.
- Planet matching: Use the repeated illustrated reference to recognise planet names, put selected planets in order and find a named picture. An adult can read the names aloud.
- Count and compare: Count clearly boxed stars, wrenches and drink bottles, then compare groups with more, fewer or the same number. Quantities go up to 20.
- Space patterns: Repeat the explicitly boxed picture block and draw the next two symbols. A grown-up can write names if drawing a small tool feels fiddly.
- Hidden objects: Find six checklist supplies among the cabin fittings. Each target appears once in the cabin; letter-and-number locations support the answer references.
- Dot-to-dot: Connect numbered points and return to 1 to reveal original rocket, rover, satellite and mission-flag outlines. Finished outlines are included.
- Picture codes: Use the symbol-to-letter key printed on each page to decode short space words and planet names.
- Create a mission: Invent a planet, draw four packing ideas, design a rover and send an imaginary message. These pages invite personal ideas rather than scored answers.
A few real facts, with room for imagination
The planet reference lists Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in order outward from the Sun. The book also introduces the Sun as a star and the Moon as Earth’s orbiting natural satellite. Fact-source links for grown-ups appear on page 39.
The artwork uses simplified planet patterns for matching. Planet sizes and distances are not to scale. The rocket scenes and creative missions are imaginary, and the pages make that distinction clear. This is a puzzle and activity resource with a few checked facts, rather than a complete astronomy course.
Exactly what is included?
Each edition contains 40 pages: 32 activity pages + 4 answer pages + 4 support pages. The support pages are the cover, adult guide, mission map and optional explorer keepsake. The two paper sizes are layouts of the same book, rather than 80 different pages.

Who is this space puzzle book for?
- Parents and caregivers looking for short space-themed paper activities for a child who enjoys rockets, planets and puzzles.
- Home-learning families wanting a mix of matching, counting, observation, codes and imaginative drawing.
- Primary teachers selecting printable puzzles for children in their own classroom.
The intended age range is 5–8, with adult help as needed. Age is guidance, not a test of what a child should be able to do. An adult can read instructions and planet names aloud, demonstrate a first step and offer breaks. There are no timed targets, assessment scores or guaranteed learning outcomes.
How to download, print and start a mission
- Download the customer ZIP.
- Extract it before opening the individual files.
- Choose the A4 or US Letter PDF to match your paper.
- Print selected pages at Actual Size / 100%, one page per sheet.
Begin with one test page to check the page edges, numbers and line details. Single-sided printing is convenient for separate activity sheets. Use a PDF reader, printer, paper and a pencil; crayons are optional. No scissors, glue, AI subscription or paid design app is required.
Count only the objects inside the particular counting box. On hidden-object pages, search inside the cabin and exclude the checklist copies. Creative drawings and personal ideas do not need to match an example exactly.
