Plan printable pages, paper sizes and exports before you design
Give every page a purpose and record the size, margins and export requirements before arranging your layout. The Printable Product Specification & Size Planner combines a 12-page editable worksheet guide with a six-tab spreadsheet, a worked example and practical setup instructions.
Use this printable product planner template to define one original planner or worksheet product, calculate usable content areas and keep export evidence and print-test records together.
What you receive: 11 files in one ZIP
- 12-page worksheet guide: editable DOCX plus the same guide as A4 and US Letter PDFs.
- Two six-tab XLSX trackers: a blank workbook for your project and a completed fictional example. Tabs: Product Brief, Page Map, Size Specs, Export Matrix, Print Tests and Sign-Off.
- 4-page worked example: a specification plan for the same 10-page habit workbook in A4 and US Letter, with 20 planned export jobs.
- 4-page quick start and 4-page Google Sheets import guide, including expected values and edit checks.
- Licence, support and version notes, and a CSV file manifest.
Package formats: 5 PDF, 2 XLSX, 1 DOCX, 2 TXT and 1 CSV. Spreadsheet record tables have 20 prepared rows. Inputs use millimetres; formulas calculate inches, content areas and whole-pixel raster references. Checks flag missing or duplicate IDs, invalid dimensions, impossible margins and incomplete evidence. The tracker records your inputs; it does not design or export your printable automatically.
Who it helps
Creators making printable planners and worksheets, digital product sellers and freelance designers preparing client specifications. Use the guide for printable planner page planning and the tracker as a printable product size checklist before building each paper version.
How to start
- Extract the ZIP and read 00_START_HERE.pdf.
- Read Worked_Example.pdf and explore Completed_Workbook.xlsx.
- Save a copy of Blank_Workbook.xlsx, then define page purposes, sizes and margins.
- Complete the worksheet guide, build your actual layouts, and record export evidence and physical print checks before sign-off.
Tools and access
A PDF reader opens the guides. LibreOffice can edit the supplied DOCX and XLSX locally; Microsoft Word and Excel are optional and may require payment. Google Sheets is an optional XLSX import route that needs your own Google account and internet access. Local spreadsheet recalculation was checked in LibreOffice. Native Google Sheets import and Microsoft Excel desktop have not been tested; run the supplied import checks before relying on a converted copy.
The package contains local editable files and an import guide, not a hosted Google template link. The printable PDFs have selectable text and are intended for reading or handwriting; they are not interactive PDF forms.
How can I define page purpose, sizes and margins before design?
Define the buyer task in Product Brief and give each planned page a purpose in Page Map. Enter every paper version and its margins in Size Specs, then link page and size IDs in Export Matrix. Record your actual exports, physical measurements and unresolved sign-off tasks as you build.
What should I look for in a printable product planner template?
Look for editable sizes and margins, separate paper-version records, linked export jobs and evidence fields. This kit supports A4 and US Letter planning before design. Choose a finished printable template instead when you need ready-made end-user planner pages.
Frequently asked questions
1. Is a finished habit workbook included?
No. The 10-page habit workbook is a fictional example specification plan, not a finished set of habit-planner designs. You receive planning worksheets, trackers and guides.
2. Does it help with A4 and US Letter template planning?
Yes. The example keeps the same page purposes across two separately specified paper versions. Editable size and margin inputs calculate usable content areas. The worksheet guide is also supplied as A4 and US Letter PDFs.
3. Will the tracker create PDFs or certify print quality?
No. Pixel values are raster references, not proof of PDF geometry or print quality. Build and inspect your actual files, then record a measured physical print test for each required paper version. The example's physical print tests remain pending.
4. Can I edit the files or use Google Sheets?
The DOCX and XLSX are editable in compatible applications. A four-page guide explains importing the XLSX into your own Google account and checking formulas afterward. A PDF reader and LibreOffice provide a local route without a hosted account.
5. Can I use this for commercial products or client work?
One purchaser or one business may use the kit internally, including planning original commercial products and client projects. You may sell your own original finished designs subject to asset rights. You may not resell or redistribute the reusable toolkit, its guides, trackers or examples. Read LICENSE.txt for the supplied terms.
6. What support is included?
Email waohhartz@gmail.com for help opening supplied files or understanding fields and formulas. Include the filename, app/version and relevant cell or page. Custom product design, account recovery, bespoke automations and printer troubleshooting are outside scope. No response-time or lifetime-update promise is included.
Digital planning files only. No physical item, design-platform account or finished printable product is supplied. Illustrative listing previews may simplify the supplied layouts. This independent kit is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google or Microsoft.
